49ERS: Kenny Vaccaro or Bust!

Image

This is it 49ers Faithful, It’s draft week! With  just only 4 days left until the draft begins, I can only imagine how hectic things are starting to get for the 49ers brass at 4949 Centennial Blvd.

You guys already know who’s #1 on my draft board.  That man is Kenny Vaccaro, Safety out of Texas.

With several of other teams rumored to be going after Vaccaro, The 49ers most likely would have to trade up to get Vaccaro. Although, that shouldn’t be a problem for a team with 33478 picks to play with in this year’s draft. Kingpins, baby!

With the recent departure of Dashon Goldson, I feel that it’s actually the Safety position that needs to be addressed the most for the 49ers.

There is no words to describe how much Dashon meant to the 49ers Defense. He’s one of the prime reasons why the 49ers Defense has been so elite the past few years. It’s hard to replace a guy like him.

I just can’t see Craig Dahl or CJ Spillman being that guy. As well as the other Safeties on the team such as Trenton Robinson, Darcel McBath and Michael Thomas. I just haven’t seen enough from them to make me think otherwise.

The successor to Dashon has to be someone who can impact the game this side of the ball like how Goldson did.

Standing at 6′ ft tall and weighing about 215 lbs, I’m positively sure Kenny Vaccaro can potentially be that guy.

PROS:

– Great speed, agility & balance          – Excellent football IQ

– Outstanding run defender                 – “Fysical with an F”

– Terrific open-field tackler                   – Great size & athleticism

CONS:

– Over-aggressive at times

– Lack of “ball-hawking” skills

– Temper issues

Taylor Mays got nothing on him..let’s make it happen, Baalke!

49ers: The ‘Kingpins’ of the 2013 NFL Draft | Ed Reed a 49er?

Now that the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade for Alex Smith(farewell Alex!), the 49ers now have a total of 15 picks in this year’s NFL Draft.

15 PICKS. *picks up jaw off the floor*

With that many picks, 49ers GM Trent Balke and Jim Harbaugh can pretty much do anything they want in the draft. I guess it’s safe to say that the 49ers won’t be using all 15 picks because of obvious reasons (salary cap, roster spots, etc). I think what the 49ers will probably end up doing is using the first few picks to draft needs (DB, S, DT, QB, WR) and packaging the others to either trade up to get someone they really like or even packaging picks for other teams to move up to get their “man” while stacking up picks for future drafts. The possibilities are endless for the 49ers. We shall see what happens come April 25th.

Maybe having alot of draft picks will help the 49ers acquire Percy Harvin or Darrelle Revis?

It seem’s like draft picks will be what it takes to land either of those guys. Who knows? Hopefully the 49ers can work something out with the two players respective teams and make a deal soon. I wouldn’t mind having either of them wearing the Red & Gold next season. Both fill HUGE needs for the 49ers.

“IN HAR-BALKE WE TRUST”

ED REED IN A 49ERS UNIFORM NEXT YEAR?

It could happen. Matter of fact, it could really happen. It all depends on what the 49ers do with Dashon Goldson. If the 49ers don’t give him the contract Dashon feels he deserves or don’t place the “tag” on him, I won’t be suprised if the 49ers try to persuade Ed Reed to come play for the Red & Gold, being that he’s a free agent and all. And trust me, with the kind of defense the 49ers already have, it won’t be that difficult.

Screw New England, come to the bay Ed Reed!

49ers Free Agents: Who Stays And Who Goes?

Who will be back for the Red & Gold next year?

You want to know who I think will stay and who will go this offseason for the 49ers? Before I do tell, let’s take a look at the list of 49ers free agents this year shall we.

Free Agents: Leonard Davis – Ted Ginn Jr. – WR Tavares Gooden – LB Larry Grant – LB Clark Haggans – LB Ricky Jean-Francois – DL Randy Moss – WR Issac Sopoaga – DL Delanie Walker – TE Dashon Goldson* – S

Who stays?

In my honest opinion, I can only see the 49ers bringing back  two guys. The two guys are only… *drumroll*

Tavares Gooden and maybe Ricky Jean-Francois.

“T-Good” had a solid year playing special teams for the 49ers. It always seemed to me that he was constantly one of the guys making the plays during special teams, he and CJ Spillman.

So far, He has show that he’s a really a good, solid special teams guy. As far as being a NFL Linebacker, who knows. Therefore, I believe he’s stays only because of the impact he makes on special teams.

Plus, I get a kick out of his “Fashion Friday” outfits on Vernon Davis’s instagram.

Ricky Jean to me is a toss up. If the 49ers decide they want to bring Ricky back, I can see him starting in place of Issac Sopoaga, who I think isn’t going to back.

Ricky played solid when he was called upon, especially during the stretch where Justin Smith was out with an elbow injury. But if the 49ers decide not to bring back Francois, it is rumored that numerous teams will be going after him. I don’t know why but I think it’s because they all saw his “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” video. Maybe.

Who goes?

Everyone not named Tavares Gooden or Ricky Jean-Francois of course!

Ted Ginn is an obvious goner to me. 49ers basically gave him that 1-year contract to see if he can offer anything in the return game for them. Well, it turned out, Ginn gave the them absolutely nothing.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but every time he return kickoffs or punts, Ginn avoided running up the middle and instead would run to the sidelines. Where is his heart at? It’s seemed to me that he was afraid to get hit and get hurt  again or something.

Look for LaMichael James Or Kyle Williams to take his place next year when it comes to kick and punt returns.

Plus, I don’t see where Ginn will be needed next season once guys like Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams return back from their devastating season-ending injuries.I still think the 49ers need another receiver!

Randy Moss is someone who I really can’t see coming back next year at all. Moss had an “OK” year for the 49ers. Moss had his moments here and there with the team. It was fairly obvious that Jim Harbaugh used him more as a decoy rather than that “deep-threat” receiver 49ers fans thought he was to be. Maybe AJ Jenkins can be that guy next year? Who knows.

What’s up with the 49ers and Dashon Goldson? Dashon had a great year pro-bowl type year and still, the 49ers aren’t sure if they want to pay him the big contract he’s  been long overdue.

Now, it’s being reported that, “‘the 49ers and Goldson are not believed to be close on a long-term deal.” WHAT THE?

On top of that, it’s been rumored that the 49ers are planning on NOT putting the franchise tag on him also. The cost to tag  Goldson this year will be about $7.45 Million, I don’t the 49ers and certainly not Dashon Goldson, want to go that rout.

It’s looking like the 49ers are just going to let “The Hawk” walk and will most likely look into the draft to replace him.

Last but not least, Delanie Walker. After watching the Super Bowl, I can’t tell who’s hands are made out of stone more, his or Adonal Foyle’s? Jeez! So many drop passes this year for him.

I’ll admit, Delanie is one heck of a freakish athlete and was one of my favorites to root for on the team, but at the end of the day, I see Delanie’s time with the 49ers being up.

Look for the 49ers to replace Delanie with maybe Stanford’s own, Zach Ertz. That’s if  he’s still available on draft day. Ertz will thrive under Roman’s system and he was actually recruited by Jim Harbaugh. Guy can straight up BALL!

Well, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed my take on the 49ers free agents for 2013.

The only thing we can do now is just wait and see.
