GSW: Don’t “jerk” off Monta!

ImageStephen Curry > Aaron Miles

Just when you thought the drama between Monta Ellis and the Warriors was over, Monte comes back to deliver one last blow to “Warriors Ground”.

In a recent article on RealGM, Monta Ellis finally opens up on the trade that sent him from the Bay Area to Milwaukee.

The article had some notable, eyebrow raising quotes that I thought i’d share with my fellow Warriors fans. Brace yourself Warriors fans

“Chris Mullin, he had my back 100 percent…and they jerked him off. Then when they jerked him off because he was sticking up for me as being a guy who made a mistake or a young man who made a mistake…who could I trust? The people that I could trust in the organization, you had just sent them away. It was a dark cloud from then on with the owner in that organization there.” – Monta Ellis

Monta said Chris Mullin getting “jerked” off by the Warriors. *facepalm*

“After everything I’ve done for that organization, playing through injuries, going out there every night, competing every night, leaving everything on the floor, for them to do me the way they did, it stung a little bit” – Monta Ellis

Breaking your ankle riding a Moped and getting yourself involved in a sexual harassment case is the recipe to getting traded, Monta.

“The difference here? You’ve got guys over here that actually play hard. Over there, guys didn’t play hard. They didn’t play hard at all” – Monta Ellis

*GASPS* WHOA! In this quote, Monta was asked to compare his current teammates in Milwaukee compared to his former ones in Oakland. Man…why Monta gotta do his old teammates like that for? SMH.

What do you think Warriors fans? Do you think Monta went a little too far with this one? Although Monta was an excellent scorer, I seriously thought he was a black hole on offense for the Warriors. He took way too many shots without getting his other teammates involved. So yea, If i was one of his teammates, I certainly wouldn’t play as hard either.

Stay classy, Monta!

GSW: Playoff expectations set at an all-time high for the Warriors

Imageexpectations are HUGE for these too and their fellow teammates

First and foremost, I want congratulate and thank the 2012-2013 Golden State Warriors for making it to the playoffs. As a Warriors fan since birth, I have only experienced playoff basketball just once in my lifetime, which was of course back in 2007. Now, fast-forward six years later, I can proudly say, it feels SO DAMN GOOD knowing that meaningful basketball in April, is back once again!

The topic I wanted to touch on in this entry is, if the recent success of teams such as the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland A’s, in the playoffs, has set the expectations for the Warriors at an all-time high now that they’re in the playoffs?

Look, the Giants have won two titles within the past three years. The 49ers have consecutively made it to the NFC Championship game and also, a Super Bowl appearance. The A’s made it all the way to the Division Series before getting eliminated by the Detroit Tigers.

The point that i’m trying to get across here is that, if the Warriors end up getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, will fans be okay with it? Will fans be already satisfied with just making the playoffs once again? Or, will the people of the Bay Area look at it as a huge disappointment being that they failed to make a deep run in the playoffs like the other notable teams in the Bay Area?

Us sports fans here in the Bay are really spoiled. When our team(s) are in the playoffs, we expect nothing else but success and championships.

I really hate to look at it like this, but already this year’s playoff-bound Warriors, have A LOT to accomplish if they want to please the souls of their loyal fans.

Your move, Warriors.

GSW: Klay better off a sixth-man?

Imagebetter off the bench?

in the Playoffs that is.

If the Warriors want to have any chance of advancing to the next round, should the Warriors have Klay come off the bench to serve a sixth-man role, rather than having him start?

We all know that Klay can score. So, why not have him come off the bench and imitate the roles that J.R. Smith and Jamal Crawford have with their respective team?

who do you start instead of Klay then?

DUH! Jarret Jack, of course. There is not a single doubt in Warriors land that the Warriors are a better team when he’s on the floor. Have Jack handle the ball while sliding Steph’ to the 2-guard, where he’s proven to be the most effective, and BOOM! Another 50-point game by Curry! Just kidding. But hey, anything is possible right? Shout out to KG.

We all know by now how inconsistent Klay Thompson is. The numbers he’s been putting up within these last seven game or so prove it. You know what? I can just already picture how how his inconsistency can lead to bad things in the Playoffs. Very bad things. Not Good.

Klay’s main objective in the Playoffs should just be to score points. A lot of them. In bunches. The less responsibilities for Klay, the better. The more comfortable Klay is, the better.

In the end, I assume that there is a good chance that this probably won’t happen. But If the Warriors aren’t satisfied with just making the Playoffs, then an idea like this should be strongly considered by Mark Jackson and the rest of his coaching staff.

I can’t wait. Oracle Arena is going to be rocking!
