You know, There is a reason why he calls himself “Dante Hitner”, dude can only hit. When it comes to pass coverage, TERR-I-BLE.

And if you want some proof, just watch Super Bowl 47 again. And again. And again and again and again.

So 49ers Faithful, this is what I was thinking. What if, the 49ers cut Whitner, sign Charles Woodson as his replacement (free agent), have Woodson play FS and move Goldson to SS. We all know how good Goldson is when it comes to stopping the run, guy is a stud. So moving him from FS to SS would make a lot of sense.

And If the 49ers decide that they want to use all 839 of their picks in the draft, cutting Whitner frees up $4.1 million in cap space. That gives the 49ers the ability to sign all 839 players they draft.
