49ERS: Nnamdi is back in the Bay…is Charles Woodson next?

Imagewhat happen to the interests with this guy?

If you haven’t heard already, The 49ers and Nnamdi Asomugha have agreed to terms to a 1-year deal worth $1.35 million rupees with incentives worth up to $3 million rupees.

In simple terms, the 49ers get a year of Nnamdi for basically for free. In regards to the type of production they’ll get from him? Well, that  is yet to be determined.

Financially, this hardly affects the 49ers. Therefore, this is not a shabby deal done by Baalke and Harbaugh. “In Har-Baalke we trust.”

Nnamdi struggled mightily playing in the zone-style type defense with the Eagles these last couple years.  Now that he’ll be utilize under Vic Fangio’s system, a system that plays operates ‘man’ coverage the majority of the time and a system that Nnamdi excels in, hopefully he can turn back the clock and return to form as a shutdown corner back. Just like how he was when he played for Oakland.

Is Charles Woodson next to sign with the 49ers?

A huge part of me hopes so, but I highly doubt it after the signing of Asomugha. Having Woodson as Goldson’s replacement would be any 49ers faithful dream situation, but as free agency continues to linger on,  it’s looking less and less likely that it’s not going to happen.

I sure hope i’m wrong though. I mean c’mon, Craig Dahl? Seriously?

But what do I know? Probably as i’m typing this, the 49ers and Charles Woodson are talking right now and figuring out a way to construct a contract that would make Woodson the 49ers new free safety.

Who knows? I know this might sound cliche, but  ” anything can happen.”
